When is a dry cooler especially useful in a PVT system?

A dry cooler is especially useful in a PVT system when the system is collecting more heat than the site can use or store.

This often happens during strong sunshine, hot weather, or low thermal demand. In those conditions, the liquid loop temperature can rise too much, which may reduce photovoltaic efficiency and put extra thermal stress on the system. The dry cooler gives the system a way to reject excess heat to ambient air and keep operation under control.

It is also very useful when the hot water tank or thermal storage is already full, when the process heat demand changes throughout the day, or when the system needs a stable loop temperature for reliable performance. In practical terms, it helps prevent overheating, protects components, and keeps both the thermal and electrical sides of the PVT installation working more steadily.

A dry cooler is particularly attractive when water-saving operation, simple outdoor installation, and low-maintenance heat rejection are important.
