Thermal Oil Heat Recovery Shell and Tube for Generator Sets


Thermal oil heat recovery shell and tube is a common heat recovery equipment in generator sets, which is used to improve the energy efficiency and heat utilisation of the power generation system. Below are some examples of the application of heat recovery casing and tubes in generating units:


Gas Turbine Power Plants: Gas turbine power plants use a gas turbine to generate power by burning gas or liquid fuel to drive a generator to produce electricity. The exhaust gas turbine contains a large amount of heat energy. A thermal oil heat recovery shell and tube is used to recover the heat energy from the gas turbine exhaust. The gas flows through the shell and tube while thermal oil (a high temperature heat transfer medium) circulates outside the shell and exchanges heat with the gas inside the shell and tube. This allows the heat energy from the gas emissions to be transferred to the heat transfer oil and used to generate steam or to heat other media, such as boiler feed water and power plant heating.


Coal-fired power plants: Coal-fired power plants produce steam by burning coal to drive a turbine to generate electricity. In the combustion process of coal-fired power plants, the combustion of coal produces high-temperature flue gas, which contains abundant heat energy. Thermal oil heat recovery shell and tube can be used to recover heat energy from the flue gas of coal-fired power plants. The flue gas flows through the shell and tube, while the heat transfer oil circulates outside the shell and exchanges heat with the flue gas inside the shell and tube. This allows the heat energy from the flue gas to be transferred to the heat transfer oil and used to generate steam or for other heat recovery.


Biomass power plants: Biomass power plants use biomass fuels (e.g. wood chips, straw, etc.) to generate electricity. In the combustion process of biomass will also produce high temperature flue gas. Thermal oil heat recovery shell and tube can be used to recover heat from the flue gases of a biomass power plant and use it for steam generation or other thermal energy uses.


These application examples demonstrate the use of thermal oil heat recovery shell and tube in power generation units. By recovering thermal energy, the energy efficiency of the power generation system can be improved, energy waste can be reduced, and efficient use of thermal energy can be achieved. The specific design and configuration will be optimised according to the type, size and process conditions of the power generation system.
