FNH Air Cooled Condenser
The FNH Air Cooled Condenser (ACC) is a type of heat exchanger used in industrial applications to cool and condense process fluids. It is designed to operate without the need for a separate water source, such as a cooling tower or water-cooled condenser.
The FNH ACC utilizes ambient air as the cooling medium, which eliminates the need for water consumption and the associated costs and environmental concerns. It consists of a series of fin and tubes through which the process fluid flows. These tubes are exposed to ambient air, which removes heat from the fluid and causes it to condense.
The condensing process in an air-cooled condenser is similar to that in a water-cooled condenser. As the hot process fluid flows through the finned tubes, heat is transferred to the surrounding air. The air, in turn, absorbs the heat and carries it away, allowing the process fluid to cool and condense. The condensed fluid then collects at the bottom of the condenser and is typically recovered for further use.
FNH ACCs are commonly used in applications where water availability or quality is limited, or where the use of water for cooling purposes is not desirable. They can be found in various industries, including power generation, petrochemicals, oil and gas, and refining.
