Where are quench air coolers commonly used?

Quench air coolers are commonly used in industrial processes where very hot gas needs to be cooled quickly before it goes to the next stage of the system.

They are often found in chemical plants, petrochemical units, sulfur-related processes, flue gas treatment systems, incineration lines, waste heat recovery installations, and other high-temperature process industries. In these applications, the cooler is usually installed upstream of equipment such as scrubbers, filters, fans, ducts, absorbers, or downstream heat exchangers.

They are especially useful in situations where rapid cooling is needed to stop unwanted secondary reactions, protect downstream equipment, reduce thermal stress, or control gas conditions before further treatment.
