What Is The Difference between The outside Unit of A Cold Room And The outside Unit of An Air Conditioner?

There are some differences between the outside unit of a cold storage and the outside unit of an air conditioner, mainly because they serve different environments and requirements. Here are some of the main differences:

Outside unit of cold storage

Refrigeration temperature range:

Cold storage is usually used to store food, medicines, chemicals and other items that need to be kept at a stable temperature in a low-temperature environment. As a result, the outside unit of a cold storage needs to be able to function properly at lower temperatures, usually between -Celsius to -20 degrees Celsius.

Frost protection:

As cold stores operate in low temperatures, their outboard units need to have anti-freeze protection to prevent the refrigerant or other key components from freezing and being damaged under cold conditions.

Low temperature resistant materials:

The materials and components of the outboard unit need to be able to withstand the effects of low-temperature environments on it to ensure that it can still work properly under extreme conditions.

Cooling capacity and power:

Cold storage outboard units usually require greater cooling capacity and higher power to cope with large-scale cooling needs.

Sealing and waterproofing:

As the working environment may be humid or highly affected by outside temperatures, cold storage outboard units usually need to be more watertight and sealed to protect the internal electrical and mechanical components.

Air Conditioning Outboard Units

Cooling temperature range:

Air conditioner outboard units are mainly used to regulate the indoor temperature, and usually work in a room temperature environment, and do not need to operate at extremely low temperatures like cold storage outboard units.

Vibration-proof design:

Since air conditioner outboard units are usually installed outside of buildings, they need to have a better anti-vibration design to withstand wind, rain and other natural influences.

Size and shape:

Air conditioning units are usually designed to be more compact and smaller in shape to suit different building installations.

Cooling capacity and power:

Compared to cold storage outboard units, residential or commercial air conditioning outboard units generally have a smaller cooling capacity and power because they serve a relatively small area.

Energy saving performance:

Air conditioning outboard units need to have good energy saving performance to reduce energy consumption.

Noise Control:

As air conditioning outboard units are usually installed near residential or commercial buildings, they need to have low operating noise to minimise disturbance to the surrounding environment.
