Dry Coolers Utilize Naturally Cooled Outdoor Air Or Chilled Water To Cool The Computer Room
The dry cooler utilizes the low-temperature outdoor air to cool its internally circulating ethylene glycol solution. The cooled solution then indirectly transfers its cooling capacity to the server room's chilled water system via a plate heat exchanger, ultimately used by the server room's air conditioning system to cool the server room.
The dry cooler itself is an air-liquid heat exchanger. It uses a fan to drive low-temperature outdoor air through its internal coils, thereby cooling the liquid flowing within the coils (usually an antifreeze ethylene glycol solution).
The ethylene glycol solution cooled by the dry cooler does not directly enter the server room. It needs to pass through a plate heat exchanger to transfer its cooling capacity to a separate chilled water circulation system that leads to the server room's air conditioning terminals.
The core purpose of this is isolation, ensuring that the cleanliness and humidity inside the server room are not affected by external factors.
