What are Boiler Spiral Coils?

Boiler spiral coils are core components of industrial and domestic boilers (especially thermal oil boilers, hot blast stoves, and steam generators). They are primarily made of carbon steel or stainless steel tubing, featuring a compact structure and extremely high heat exchange efficiency. They are typically installed inside the furnace, absorbing the radiant and convective heat of high-temperature flue gas to achieve rapid heating of liquids or gases.

I. Applications and Features

High Heat Exchange Efficiency: The compact spiral structure increases flow turbulence, effectively increasing the heating area compared to straight tubes, making it ideal for equipment requiring rapid heat exchange.

Typical Applications: Widely used in vertical/horizontal steam boilers, thermal oil heaters, hot blast stoves, and radiant sections of steam injection boilers.

Compact Structure: The coil design not only achieves efficient heating but also reduces the overall boiler volume, making it suitable for space-constrained installation scenarios.

II. Common Types and Materials

Materials: Typically made of seamless carbon steel tubing (commonly used in oil/gas thermal oil boilers) or stainless steel tubing (commonly used in food-grade or medical steam generators) to ensure pressure resistance and corrosion resistance at high temperatures. Construction: Primarily features three sets of spiral coils (inner, middle, and outer), or different coiling patterns such as serpentine and mosquito coil shapes to adapt to various furnace structures.

Customization: Can be processed into multi-head coils, variable pitch coils, etc., and even can be extracted for cleaning, depending on requirements.

III. Structural Composition and Maintenance

Combustion System: The heated medium (such as water or oil) is circulated inside the spiral coil, and burners are arranged in the furnace for high-temperature heating.

Waste Heat Recovery: Some boilers use spiral coils to recover waste heat from flue gas, improving overall energy efficiency.

Installation and Processing: Production typically involves CNC cold bending forming technology to ensure precise coil radius and spacing.
