Spiral Quick Freezer is a kind of high efficient food freezing equipment, the air cooler (evaporator) is one of its core components, responsible for rapidly reducing the temperature of food through forced convection heat transfer.
The core role of the spiral freezer air cooler
Rapid heat exchange: forcibly circulate low-temperature air (-30℃ to -40℃) through the fan, which is in direct contact with the surface of food and takes away the heat.
Uniform freezing: Ensure uniform airflow distribution to avoid incomplete localized freezing of food.
Energy-saving design: High-efficiency heat exchanger tubes (e.g. aluminum finned stainless steel tubes) and low-energy fans reduce operating costs.
Key design elements for spiral freezer evaporator
Material selection:
Fin: usually aluminum (lightweight and corrosion resistant), stainless steel is optional for special environment.
Tubing: copper or stainless steel tubing to ensure low temperature resistance and pressure capacity.
Structural design:
Multi-circuit distributor: Equalize refrigerant distribution through distributor to enhance heat transfer efficiency.
Variable sheet pitch design: prevent frost from blocking the airflow channel (e.g. sheet pitch 8-12mm).
Fan configuration:
High air pressure axial fan or centrifugal fan, air volume needs to match the speed of quick-freezing line speed (such as thousands of cubic meters per hour).
Frequency conversion control, adjust the wind speed according to the load, reduce energy consumption.
Refrigeration system matching
Refrigerant: commonly used ammonia (NH₃), R404A, CO₂ (environmentally friendly).
Liquid supply method: mostly liquid pump supply or full liquid evaporation, to improve the heat exchange efficiency.
Defrost design:
Hot gas defrosting: mainstream way, using high-temperature refrigerant gas defrosting during shutdown.
Water frost: applicable to specific models, need to pay attention to drainage anti-freezing.
