How is AHU Maintenance Performed?

Maintenance of air handling units is critical to ensure proper operation and extend the life of the unit. The following are common maintenance steps:

Filter Inspection and Replacement: Regularly inspect and replace air filters to avoid increased air resistance and decreased energy efficiency caused by clogged filters. It is usually recommended that filters be replaced every 3 to 6 months.

Fan Maintenance: Check the operating condition of the fan to ensure there is no abnormal vibration or noise. Clean the fan impeller regularly to prevent dust accumulation from affecting fan efficiency. For fans with bearings, regular lubrication of the bearings is also required.

Coil Cleaning: Clean the cooling coil and heating coil regularly to prevent dust and dirt from accumulating and affecting the heat exchange efficiency. The frequency of coil cleaning depends on the environment in which it is used, and deep cleaning is recommended at least once a year.

Drainage system check: Ensure that the condensate drainage system is clear to prevent moisture build-up or overflow due to poor drainage, which may trigger mould growth or system failure.

Control system calibration: Regularly check and calibrate the control system to ensure accurate operation of sensors, valves and actuators.
