Heat Recovery Heat Exchangers for Generating Sets
A heat recovery heat exchanger is a type of heat exchange equipment used to recover the waste heat generated during the power generation process. In conventional power generation, the heat generated by burning fuel is emitted into the atmosphere in the form of exhaust gas, resulting in a waste of energy. By using a heat recovery heat exchanger, this waste heat can be recovered and used to improve the energy efficiency performance of the power generation system.
The following are the working principles and applications of heat recovery heat exchangers for generating sets:
Flue gas recovery: The heat recovery heat exchanger is usually installed on the exhaust pipe of a generator set to recover the heat energy from the exhaust gas. When the flue gas from fuel combustion is discharged through the exhaust pipe, the heat recovery heat exchanger transfers the heat from the exhaust gas to the working medium (e.g. water or steam), heating up the working medium and lowering the temperature of the flue gas at the same time. In this way, the heat energy in the flue gas is recovered and the energy efficiency performance of the entire power generation system is improved.
Steam cycle: For power generation systems using steam as the power source, heat recovery heat exchangers can be used to recover and increase the energy in the steam cycle. The high temperature exhaust gases from fuel combustion can be exchanged for heat with the water or exhaust vapour in the steam cycle through the heat exchanger, thereby increasing the temperature and pressure of the water and increasing the output of the steam generating unit.
Heating systems: Generating sets produce a large amount of waste heat during operation, which can be used to heat the heating system. The heat recovery heat exchanger can transfer the waste heat to the working medium of the heating system (e.g. water) to meet the heating needs of a building or industrial facility.
By using heat recovery heat exchangers for generating sets, the waste heat generated during the power generation process can be fully utilised to improve the energy efficiency performance of the overall power generation system, reduce energy waste and reduce the environmental impact. Choosing the right heat recovery heat exchanger and carrying out regular maintenance will ensure proper system operation and optimum heat transfer efficiency.
