Heat Exchangers Used in the Production of Palm Oil

The use of heat exchangers is common in palm oil production for heat exchange at different stages of the process. 2. Coolers: In the refining and deodorisation stages of palm oil, coolers are required to reduce the temperature of the oil and fats so that it maintains a specific temperature range during some of the steps in order to proceed to the next step in the process.

3. Recovery heat exchanger: During the extraction process, recovery heat exchanger may be used to recover the waste heat, thus reducing energy consumption and increasing production efficiency.

4. Evaporator: Palm oil refining may involve an evaporation process to remove unwanted components. An evaporator helps to concentrate the oil by evaporating the water from the solution.

5. Hot Oil Furnaces: During the deodorisation stage, hot oil furnaces can be used to heat up the fats and oils to remove odours and impurities from them.

These heat exchangers can be selected according to specific process requirements and production scale. In palm oil production, it is important to ensure that the heat exchanger is selected and operated in a way that meets the requirements of hygiene, environmental protection and energy efficiency. Regular maintenance and cleaning is also essential to maintain the performance and life of the heat exchanger.
