What is Freshwater Generator Evaporator?
The Freshwater Generator Evaporator is the core heat exchange component of a marine water generator (seawater desalination unit). It heats seawater, causing it to boil under vacuum and evaporate, producing pure steam, which is then condensed into fresh water by a condenser.
Working Principle: The water generator chamber maintains a high vacuum, low pressure environment, causing seawater to boil at a low temperature (approximately 35-45°C). Hot water/oil from the main engine cylinder liner is introduced into the internal heat exchange pipes as a heat source. The heat source heats the seawater through the pipe walls, causing it to evaporate into pure water vapor. The steam enters the condenser of the water generator for cooling and condensation into usable fresh water. High-concentration seawater brine is automatically discharged, completing the desalination cycle.
Common Materials: Heat exchange tubes: Titanium tubes, 90/10 copper-nickel alloy, stainless steel
Shell: Carbon steel with rubber lining, stainless steel
Suitable for highly corrosive seawater conditions, preventing scaling and seawater corrosion.
Application Scenarios: Core components for water makers in various ocean-going vessels, cargo ships, container ships, and cruise ships; seawater desalination systems for offshore platforms and offshore engineering vessels; offshore wind power and small-scale freshwater production equipment for islands.
