Guide bearings are important components in turbomachinery, responsible for supporting the rotor and reducing friction and wear. The function of the oil cooler is to effectively reduce the operating temperature of the turbomachinery by lowering the temperature of the guide bearing oil, increasing the reliability and life of the system.
The oil cooler usually consists of the following main parts:
COOLER CASING: The cooler casing is the external package of the oil cooler and is used to house the internal components of the cooler and provide connection to the turbomachinery system.
Cooler Lines: The cooler lines are responsible for directing the hot oil around the pilot bearing into the cooler and returning the cooled oil to the pilot bearing. They usually include oil inlet and oil return lines.
Cooler core: The cooler core is the core component of the oil cooler, usually made of high thermal conductivity material. When the guide bearing oil passes through the core of the cooler, it comes into contact with the surface of the core and radiates heat to the environment around the cooler through heat transfer.
Cooling medium: The cooling medium, which can be air or liquid, is used to absorb the heat absorbed by the cooler core from the conductive bearing oil and carry it away.
