High/Low Temperature Dry Cooler for Power Plant Heat Dissipation

A high and low temperature dry cooler is a type of equipment used to dissipate heat in power plants.

typically used in steam-powered or nuclear power plants to cool thermally circulating media, such as steam or hot water, in power plants.

The principle of operation of the HTDC is to remove heat from the process by means of air cooling. It consists of two main parts: a high-temperature side and a low-temperature side. The high temperature side is connected to the heat circulation system in the power plant, usually to a boiler or steam generator. The low-temperature side is in contact with the atmosphere.

On the high-temperature side, the thermal cycling mass enters the HTDC from the power plant's thermal cycling system and flows through a series of pipes and heat exchangers. In the process, the thermally recycled mass releases thermal energy, which lowers its temperature. The cooled mass is then returned to the power plant's recirculation system for reuse.

On the low-temperature side, the heat energy released on the high-temperature side is transferred to the air by contact with the atmosphere. Usually, a fan or blower is installed in the high and low temperature dry cooler to increase air flow and improve heat dissipation efficiency. In this way, the heat energy is carried away, causing the temperature of the work mass to be further reduced and achieving the purpose of heat dissipation in the power plant.

Compared to traditional wet cooling systems (e.g. cooling towers), the HT dry cooler has a number of advantages. Firstly, it is more environmentally friendly as it does not require the use of large amounts of water. Secondly, because it does not involve evaporation of water, the HLTC dry cooler has a lower water consumption. In addition, HLTC dry coolers are relatively low maintenance and can be adapted to a wider range of environmental conditions.

Overall, the high and low temperature dry cooler is an effective heat dissipation device that can be used in power plants to remove heat energy from the work mass by means of air cooling to achieve heat dissipation and energy recovery in power plants.
