In spray drying systems, a large amount of hot air is exhausted to the atmosphere, resulting in significant energy loss. To improve energy efficiency and reduce operating costs, Vrcoolertech provides a customized finned tube air-to-water heat exchanger designed for spray dryer exhaust heat recovery applications.
Exhaust Air Temperature: 90°C → 45°C (after heat recovery)
Water Temperature: 30°C → 70°C (heated by exhaust air)
Heated Water Application: Preheating fresh air from 30°C → 61°C
This heat exchanger captures waste heat from the hot exhaust air of a spray dryer and transfers it to process water. The heated water is then used to preheat incoming fresh air, significantly improving the overall thermal efficiency of the drying system.
Stage 1 – Exhaust Air Cooling:
The hot exhaust air from the spray dryer passes through the finned tube heat exchanger, where heat is transferred to the circulating water. The air temperature drops from 90°C to 45°C, reducing energy loss through the stack.
Stage 2 – Water Heating:
The process water absorbs the recovered heat and its temperature rises from 30°C to 70°C, creating a valuable source of preheated water.
Stage 3 – Fresh Air Preheating:
The heated water is circulated to a secondary air heater, preheating the fresh intake air from 30°C to 61°C, reducing the energy required by the main drying heater.
Heat Recovery Capacity: Approximately 150 kW
