Engine Exhaust Waste Heat Recovery Technology and Application
Gas engine exhaust waste heat recovery and utilisation technology is a means of recovering the heat contained in the engine exhaust gas through waste heat recovery equipment, turning it into usable energy and realising a means of turning waste into treasure, which is one of the most direct and economic channels to improve energy utilisation, reduce production costs and protect the environment. Although China's research on exhaust gas waste heat recovery technology started relatively late, but there have been quite a number of domestic enterprises and institutions have carried out research and development of exhaust gas waste heat recovery equipment, many of which have been practically applied in the fields of energy, chemical industry and so on.
At present, the engine exhaust gas waste heat recovery and utilisation technology mainly has the following applications:
(1) Power is provided by outputting energy through the exhaust gas turbine. It is mainly through the turbine to drive other equipment, so as to achieve the transfer of energy. The application of more is through the supercharging turbine on the engine intake air pressure, with the help of a part of the energy in the exhaust gas to improve the engine intake pressure, in order to improve the engine's power and economy, and at the same time to reduce the emission of exhaust gas heat. At present, this technology has been applied in industrial piston engines as well as in automobiles.
(2) Use of engine exhaust gas waste heat for power generation. One method is to use the waste heat of the exhaust gas to heat the water into high-temperature and high-pressure steam to push the turbine to do work and drive the generator to generate electricity; another method is to use the temperature difference power generation technology to generate electricity. Temperature difference power generation is the use of two connected conductors or semiconductors of the Seebeck effect (Seebeck Effect), will be converted from heat to electricity, a technology.
(3) Use of engine exhaust gas waste heat refrigeration. There are mainly absorption refrigeration and adsorption refrigeration two kinds: absorption refrigeration is the use of waste heat as the completion of the refrigeration cycle of power; adsorption refrigeration is the use of certain substances in a certain temperature, pressure can be adsorbed some kind of gas or water vapour, in another kind of temperature and pressure and can be released out of the characteristics of the refrigeration to achieve. In contrast, absorption refrigeration heat utilisation is relatively high, but the structure is complex, high cost; adsorption refrigeration structure is simple, low cost, but the heat utilisation is relatively low.
(4) the engine exhaust waste heat recovery for other media to obtain the required heat source, mainly through the heat transfer equipment will be the waste heat of the exhaust gas is converted into other media required heat, such as the current high utilisation rate of access to steam, hot water, etc., for domestic hot water, heating, etc., in the petroleum industry, but also on crude oil and other process media for heating.
