Cooling Coil for Dry Cooler in Production
cooling coil is the core component of a dry cooler. It is mainly used to transfer the heat of the fluid to be cooled to the air, thus achieving the cooling effect.
Structure and Material
Coil Tube: Usually made of copper tubes or stainless - steel tubes, and the fluid to be cooled, such as ethylene glycol solution or water, flows inside. The copper tube has good thermal conductivity, which is beneficial to heat transfer; the stainless - steel tube has strong corrosion resistance and is suitable for occasions with high requirements on fluid properties or working environments.
Fins: The outer surface of the coil is usually equipped with fins, which are mostly made of aluminum. The fins increase the heat - dissipation area, enhance the heat - exchange efficiency between the coil and the air, and enable the heat on the coil surface to be transferred to the air more quickly.
Working Principle
When the hot fluid passes through the cooling coil, the heat is transferred from the fluid to the coil wall, and then through the wall to the fins and the surrounding air. At the same time, the fan installed on the dry cooler forces the air to flow, so that the cold air continuously passes through the surface of the cooling coil, taking away the heat, and thus cooling the fluid.
