The ammonia air cooler operates based on the principle of vaporization and heat absorption of ammonia refrigerant. Ammonia, in its liquid state, absorbs heat from the surrounding air in the seafood processing plant's cold storage or processing area as it evaporates in the evaporator coil. This process cools the air, which is then circulated by a fan throughout the space to maintain the required low temperature. The heat - absorbed ammonia vapor is then compressed and condensed back into a liquid state in the condenser, ready for the next cycle of evaporation and cooling.

High Cooling Efficiency: Ammonia has a high latent heat of vaporization, meaning it can absorb a large amount of heat per unit mass. This enables ammonia air coolers to achieve rapid and efficient cooling, which is essential for maintaining the quality of seafood.

Environmental Friendliness: As a natural refrigerant, ammonia has a low global warming potential (GWP) and does not contribute to ozone depletion. This makes it an environmentally sustainable choice for seafood processing plants, which are increasingly concerned about reducing their carbon footprint.

Cost - effectiveness: Ammonia is relatively inexpensive compared to some synthetic refrigerants. Additionally, due to its high cooling efficiency, ammonia air cooler systems can have lower energy consumption, resulting in long - term cost savings for the seafood processing plant.

Corrosion Resistance: Seafood processing plants are often humid environments, and ammonia air coolers can be designed with corrosion - resistant materials such as stainless steel to withstand the harsh conditions and ensure a long service life.

Ammonia Air Cooler Applications:

Cold Storage Rooms: In seafood processing plants, cold storage rooms are used to store raw materials, semi - processed products, and finished products. Ammonia air coolers are installed in these rooms to maintain a constant low temperature, typically ranging from - 18°C to - 25°C for frozen seafood and 0°C to 5°C for chilled seafood, to prevent spoilage and extend the shelf life of the products.

Freezing Rooms: Freezing rooms are used to quickly freeze seafood products. Ammonia air coolers can provide the low temperatures required for rapid freezing, usually around - 35°C or lower, which helps to preserve the texture, flavor, and nutritional value of the seafood.

Processing Areas: Some seafood processing operations, such as filleting, packaging, and sorting, need to be carried out in a low temperature environment to ensure the quality of the products and the safety of the workers. Ammonia air coolers can be used to cool these processing areas to maintain an appropriate temperature and humidity level.
