The air conditioning (AC) system in a bus or any vehicle consists of multiple components that work together to cool and dehumidify the air inside the vehicle. The two key components of an AC system are the condenser and the evaporator.

1. AC Condenser:

The AC condenser is located at the front of the vehicle, usually in front of the radiator. It plays a vital role in releasing heat from the refrigerant gas. The process begins when the high pressure, high temperature refrigerant gas enters the condenser from the compressor. The main function of the condenser is to dissipate the heat of the refrigerant, changing it from a high-pressure gas to a high-pressure liquid. This heat dissipation is achieved by allowing air to flow through the condenser coil containing the refrigerant. As the refrigerant releases heat, it cools and turns into a high-pressure liquid. The cooled liquid is then sent to the expansion valve or throttle orifice tube.

2. AC evaporator:

The AC evaporator is located in the passenger car cabin, usually behind the dashboard or inside the ventilation system. It is responsible for absorbing heat from the cabin air and evaporating the liquid refrigerant into a gas. As the high pressure liquid refrigerant enters the evaporator, it encounters a lower pressure environment. This causes the refrigerant to evaporate, absorbing heat from the surrounding air in the process. As the heat is absorbed, the cabin air is cooled and dehumidified, making the interior more comfortable for passengers. The evaporator coil is in direct contact with the cabin air for efficient heat exchange.

In summary, the air conditioning condenser and evaporator are integral parts of a vehicle's air conditioning system:

- The condenser releases heat from the high-pressure refrigerant gas, causing it to condense into a high-pressure liquid.

- The evaporator absorbs heat from the cabin air, causing the liquid refrigerant to evaporate into a low-pressure gas that cools and dehumidifies the cabin air.

These two components work in conjunction with the compressor, expansion valve and other components to produce a cooling effect in the vehicle's air conditioning system, ensuring passenger comfort in hot weather.
