Bearing Oil Cooler for Large Hydro-Generators
The operation of the bearing oil cooler is based on the heat exchange principle. During operation, the high-temperature bearing lubricating oil flows from the generator bearing system into the tube program of the cooler, while the low-temperature cooling water flows in the shell program. Due to the temperature difference between the fluid inside and outside the tubes, heat is transferred from the high-temperature bearing oil to the low-temperature cooling water through the tube wall, thus cooling the bearing oil. The cooled bearing oil is then returned to the bearing system to continue to lubricate and cool the bearings, and so on to ensure that the bearings operate at the appropriate temperature.
Performance Requirements
High Cooling Efficiency: It can quickly and effectively reduce the temperature of the bearing oil to ensure that the bearings can be kept within the specified temperature range under various working conditions, so as to ensure the normal operation and service life of the bearings.
Reliable sealing: to prevent the bearing oil and cooling water from leaking into each other, and to avoid problems such as oil contamination of water or water entering the bearing system leading to lubrication failure, which is crucial to ensure the safe operation of the generator.
Corrosion resistance: Since the cooling water may contain various impurities and corrosive substances, the material of the cooler needs to have good corrosion resistance in order to extend the service life of the equipment and reduce maintenance and replacement costs.
Small pressure loss: under the premise of ensuring the cooling effect, the flow resistance of the bearing oil and cooling water in the cooler should be minimized to reduce the pressure loss of the system, so as to avoid adverse effects on the normal operation of the bearing oil circulation system and cooling water system.
