Ammonia evaporators are commonly used in refrigeration systems for quick-freeze and cryogenic cold rooms.
In quick-freeze and low-temperature cold rooms, air temperatures need to be lowered to very low temperatures to freeze and maintain the freshness of food, pharmaceuticals or other items. Ammonia evaporators are very common in these applications because ammonia has a low boiling point and good refrigeration properties to provide efficient refrigeration.
Ammonia evaporators typically work as part of a refrigeration cycle system with components such as a compressor, condenser and evaporator. In the refrigeration cycle, ammonia is compressed into a high-pressure gas through the compressor and then enters the condenser, where it gives off heat and cools to a liquid state. Next, the liquid ammonia enters the evaporator, where it absorbs heat through evaporation to lower the air temperature and is recycled back to the compressor for recompression.
In quick-freeze and low-temperature cold rooms, the ammonia evaporator cools the ammonia in the evaporator by transferring heat from the condenser to the surrounding air. In this way, the ammonia evaporator is able to continuously reduce the air temperature to the desired low temperature by cycling through the air.
Due to the efficient refrigeration performance, reliability and environmental friendliness of ammonia evaporators, they are widely used in quick-freeze and low-temperature cold rooms for food freezing, storage and preservation.
