Ammonia evaporators for cold storage -18, frozen products as fish, meat, vegetables
In an ammonia refrigeration system, liquid ammonia absorbs the heat of the cooled object in the evaporator and is converted into ammonia vapor. The low-temperature and low-pressure ammonia vapor is compressed by the compressor into high-temperature and high-pressure ammonia vapor, which then enters the condenser. In the condenser, the ammonia vapor transfers heat to the cooling water or air and condenses into a liquid by itself. After being depressurized and cooled by the throttle valve, the liquid ammonia enters the evaporator again to complete a cycle. In this way, the heat in the frozen products such as fish, meat, and vegetables is continuously taken away, maintaining the low temperature of -18°C in the cold storage.
Stainless steel is widely used in ammonia evaporators, especially in some occasions with higher requirements for corrosion resistance and hygiene. For example, in cold storage storing fish, meat, and vegetables, stainless steel evaporators can better prevent the contamination of food by corrosion products and ensure food safety.
