What is an ammonia evaporator?


An ammonia evaporator is a type of refrigeration equipment that uses ammonia as a refrigerant. It compresses the ammonia gas to raise its temperature and then cools it to a liquid by passing it through a condenser. The liquid ammonia is then depressurised by means of an expansion valve, which causes it to evaporate and absorb heat from the surrounding area, thus achieving the purpose of refrigeration.


Ammonia evaporators are mainly used in industrial refrigeration, such as cold stores and refrigeration trucks. Compared to traditional refrigeration equipment, ammonia chillers have the advantages of good cooling effect, fast cooling speed, energy saving and environmental protection. Fuses and circuit breakers: Fuses and circuit breakers are common protective devices in electrical control systems. They can cut the circuit in case of current overload or short circuit and prevent damage to the equipment.


Overload protectors: Overload protectors monitor changes in the current of electrical equipment and automatically cut off the circuit when the current exceeds the rated value to protect equipment from damage by overload.


Ground fault protection: Ground fault protection is a protection device used to detect whether electrical equipment has a ground fault. When equipment has a ground fault, it will automatically cut off the circuit to protect the safety of personnel and equipment.


Overvoltage protector: An overvoltage protector is a device used to protect equipment from overvoltage damage. When the voltage exceeds the rated value, the circuit is automatically cut off to prevent damage to electrical equipment.


Temperature protector: A temperature protector is a device used to monitor the temperature of electrical equipment and will automatically cut the circuit when the temperature of the equipment exceeds a safe range to protect the equipment from overheating damage.


These protective devices help the electrical control system of the ammonia chiller to cut off the circuit in case of a fault or abnormal situation, ensuring the safe operation of the equipment.
