It is the job of a condenser coil to discharge into the surrounding environment the heat that the refrigerant has absorbed from the interior of a building. At the same time, the evaporator coil is responsible for rejecting the energy that it has taken in from the surrounding environment.Condenser coils are housed within the component of an air conditioning unit known as the condenser, which is often situated in the yard or other outdoor area.  The condenser is dependent on the effective transfer of heat that takes place during phase shifts, specifically the condensation of a vapor into a liquid, in order to function properly.

Evaporator coils are responsible for drawing heat from the surrounding air, which is then transferred to condenser coils, which are then responsible for releasing that heat into the surrounding air. As a high-pressure gas, the refrigerant moves through the condenser coil, and as it does so, it expels the heat that it has absorbed. This process occurs as the gas moves through the coil. As a result, the refrigerant will change into a liquid, and this liquid will be routed back to the evaporator coil so that the cycle may begin again.

Copper and aluminum are two metals that are excellent heat conductors and are usually used in the construction of condenser coils. The coils are constructed in such a way as to maximize the surface area that is in contact with the air, which in turn allows for the highest amount of heat transfer.

The amount of air that flows through a condenser coil is one of the most essential aspects that determines how well it works. Because the coil will not be able to release heat effectively if the airflow is restricted or blocked, the air conditioning system will likely operate inefficiently and waste energy as a result.

It is imperative that the condenser coil be kept clean and clear of any debris in order to maintain the highest possible level of operational effectiveness.
