1. What is an EC Fan

EC Fan = Electronically Commutated Fan

It is a brushless permanent magnet DC fan with a built-in electronic driver.

It takes standard AC power input, internally converts to DC power, and uses electronic commutation instead of traditional carbon brushes.

Widely used in modern Air Handling Units (AHU).

2. Working Principle

  1. Input: AC 230V / 400V mains power.

  2. Internal rectifier converts AC to DC.

  3. Integrated ECU controls motor commutation and speed.

  4. Stepless speed regulation via control signal.

3. Key Advantages in AHU

  • High energy efficiency: 20%–50% power saving compared with conventional AC fans; higher efficiency at partial load.

  • Integrated speed control: support 0–10V, PWM, RS485/BMS communication for precise airflow regulation.

  • Direct drive design: no belt, no pulley, less mechanical loss & maintenance.

  • Low noise & low vibration: brushless structure, stable operation.

  • Long service life: wear-free motor design, long bearing lifespan.

  • Compact size: outer rotor structure, save AHU internal space.
