Steam Heating Coils for Industrial Drying Equipment
Steam heating coil, as the core heat exchanger of industrial drying equipment, heats the air (or other media) through the latent heat released by steam condensation to provide a stable heat source for material drying.
The outside of the tube is usually fitted with fins, mainly in the form of threaded fins (expanded tube/welded fixing):
Fin material: aluminum (lightweight, high heat transfer efficiency, suitable for medium-temperature drying) or stainless steel (high-temperature, corrosion-resistant, suitable for high-temperature steam or humid environments).
Fin spacing: according to the design of drying wind speed, forced ventilation drying (wind speed 1-3m/s) choose 2-5mm dense spacing (to increase the heat transfer area); natural convection choose 5-10mm sparse spacing (to reduce resistance).
Typical application industries
Food processing: such as grains, fruits and vegetables drying, need to meet the health standards (stainless steel coil + food-grade fins, the surface is smooth and easy to clean, to avoid material residues), steam temperature control at 80-120 ℃ (to prevent material coking).
Chemical and building materials: such as plastic granules, paint powder drying, steam temperature can be increased to 150-200 ℃, the coil needs to be resistant to slight chemical corrosion (316 stainless steel), fins need to prevent accumulation of dust (can be designed as serrated fins to reduce dust adhesion).
Textile and paper: fabric, paper drying needs to be uniformly heated, the coil adopts many parallel tube bundles to ensure that the air temperature deviation is ≤ ± 2 ℃, to avoid localized overheating of the material, fin spacing 3-4mm (suitable for high air velocity ventilation system).
