Vrcooler manufactures heavy-duty shell & tube cooling water heat exchangers specially customized for hydropower generator closed cooling circuits, widely applied to vertical shaft hydro-generators in Vietnam, Southeast Asia and domestic hydropower stations.
This equipment acts as an isolation heat transfer station: it cools the clean closed-circuit cooling water of generator air coolers, bearing oil coolers and excitation coolers through raw river water or brackish delta water, avoiding direct contact between sediment-laden raw water and precision generator heat exchange cores, greatly lowering scaling, corrosion and overhaul frequency.
Working Principle
1. Hot circulating water carrying heat from hydro generator air coolers flows into the tube side of the heat exchanger.
2. Cold river/brackish water passes through the shell side for counter-flow heat exchange.
3. The cooled clean closed water circulates back to the generator cooling equipment for cyclic heat dissipation.
4. River water absorbs waste heat and drains away, forming a safe dual-circuit isolation cooling system.
