No-frost Fin Evaporator
For Household Refrigerators & Freezers
This type of evaporator is the core component for no-frost / frost-free refrigeration appliances, using forced air circulation to achieve cooling without manual defrosting.
Basic Structure
Type: Fin-and-tube evaporator (lanced / corrugated fins for enhanced heat transfer)
Common material:
Full aluminum tube + aluminum fin (all-aluminum)
Or copper tube + aluminum fin (Cu-Al)
Connection: Mechanical expansion, tight tube-fin contact
With integrated defrost heater (electric heating tube / aluminum foil heater)
Equipped with temperature sensor / defrost sensor mounting position
Working Principle
Refrigerant evaporates inside the tube, absorbing heat
Fan forces indoor air to pass through the fin surface
Continuous heat exchange lowers cabinet temperature
Periodic automatic defrost melts frost on fins
Defrost water flows out through drain pipe
Main Performance Characteristics
No manual defrost required → fully automatic operation
Uniform temperature inside cabinet
Fast cooling, high heat exchange efficiency
Low airflow resistance, low fan noise
Compact structure, suitable for limited space in household fridges
Typical Application
Single-door, double-door, multi-door frost-free refrigerators
Upright frost-free freezers
Side-by-side / French door refrigerators
Small commercial display coolers used in household scenarios
Typical Technical Range (Reference)
Overall heat transfer coefficient K: 18–35 W/(m²·K)
Operating temperature: Refrigerated ~2–8 °C / Frozen ~-18 °C
Common refrigerants: R600a, R134a
Fin spacing: 4–8 mm
Tube diameter: φ7 mm, φ8 mm
