Stainless steel tube-fin steam heat exchangers are synonymous with high efficiency, durability, and reliability in modern industrial washing and drying machinery. Steam Supply: High-temperature saturated steam is conveyed from the boiler to the dryer, entering the heat exchanger's header box via a control valve.

Heat Exchange: Steam flows through stainless steel tubes, transferring its substantial latent heat of vaporization through the tube walls and fins to air forced through the fin gaps.

Air Heating: Ambient air driven by a fan flows over the heated finned tubes, rapidly rising to operating temperatures (typically 100°C - 150°C).

Condensate Drainage: After releasing heat, the steam condenses into high-temperature condensate, which is drained via a steam trap and recycled to the boiler system.

Clothes Drying: The generated dry hot air is blown into the drum, where it undergoes heat and mass transfer with tumbling damp fabrics, removing moisture to achieve drying.


Common Issues and Maintenance:

Efficiency Decline:

Primary Cause: Severe blockage of the fin gaps by fabric lint and dust. This is the most common problem.

Solution: Regular cleaning is essential! Use compressed air to blow from the air outlet side in reverse, or rinse with a low-pressure water gun. Maintaining clear fin gaps is key to sustaining high-efficiency operation.

Condensate Drainage Issues:

Cause: Faulty or clogged drain valves cause water accumulation in the heat exchanger, severely impairing heat transfer and potentially triggering water hammer.

Solution: Regularly inspect and replace drain valves.

Leaks:

Cause: Pipe wall rupture due to water quality issues (e.g., localized overheating corrosion from hard water scaling) or long-term vibration fatigue.

Solution: Professional welding repairs or replacement of the entire heat exchanger unit. Emphasizing boiler feedwater softening treatment can prevent this issue.
