It combines adiabatic evaporative pre-cooling and forced air heat exchange, specially designed for transcritical R744 (CO₂) refrigeration systems. The full working process is divided into 3 steps:

Adiabatic Air Pre-Cooling

A fine water mist is sprayed into the incoming ambient air. Water evaporates rapidly and absorbs heat from the air, lowering the air temperature obviously. This process uses only a small volume of water with no excess liquid left.

Heat Exchange with Supercritical CO₂

The pre-cooled air flows across high-pressure stainless steel coils. Hot supercritical CO₂ (high pressure, no phase change inside transcritical systems) releases heat to the cool air. The CO₂ temperature drops steadily while still keeping above critical pressure.

Intelligent Cycle & Mode Switch

Under high outdoor temperature: The adiabatic spray system activates automatically for pre-cooling, ensuring stable heat rejection.

Under mild temperature: The spray system shuts off, and the unit runs as a standard dry gas cooler to save water and energy.

The cooled CO₂ flows back to the refrigeration system to complete the closed cycle, supporting continuous operation of commercial refrigeration and cold chain facilities.
