How does the evaporator coil in an IQF system work?
The evaporator coil in an IQF system works through a series of steps.
First, the refrigerant enters the coil in a low-pressure, low-temperature vapor state. As the warm air from the product or the chamber comes into contact with the coil, the refrigerant absorbs the heat. This causes the refrigerant to vaporize further and the temperature of the air to drop. The vaporized refrigerant then exits the coil and is typically compressed to a higher pressure and temperature. The compressed refrigerant then goes to a condenser where it releases the absorbed heat and condenses back into a liquid. This liquid refrigerant is then returned to the evaporator coil to repeat the process. The continuous cycling of the refrigerant through the evaporator coil allows for continuous heat extraction and the maintenance of the low-temperature environment in the IQF system. This enables the rapid freezing of the products. For instance, as the products move through the IQF system, the evaporator coil efficiently cools the air around them, causing the products to freeze quickly and evenly.
