130 Bar CO₂ Gas Cooler is the core heat rejection component of transcritical R744 (CO₂) refrigeration systems, replacing traditional condensers. It is designed to handle supercritical CO₂ at up to 130 bar (1,885 psi), the standard high-pressure rating for modern supermarket CO₂ systems.
Transcritical Cycle Basics: CO₂’s critical point is 73.8 bar / 31.1°C. When ambient temperature exceeds 31°C, CO₂ cannot condense into liquid; instead, it remains a supercritical fluid and rejects heat via sensible cooling in the gas cooler (no phase change).
130 Bar Upgrade: Optimized for high-temperature climates (>38°C), this rating enhances system stability and efficiency compared to legacy 120 bar designs.
Key Advantages for Supermarket Cooling
Extreme High-Pressure Resistance (130 Bar)
Engineered with thickened high-strength steel tubes and reinforced manifolds, safely sustaining 130 bar operating pressure.
Withstands pressure spikes in transcritical cycles; no adiabatic cooling required in hot weather.
20% Higher Capacity & 18% COP Improvement (vs. 120 Bar)
At ambient temps >38°C, delivers 20% more cooling capacity and 18% higher COP than 120 bar systems.
Maintains stable cabinet temps (0–4°C for chillers, -18°C for freezers) even in summer peaks.
Eco-Friendly: Zero GWP, ODP = 0
Uses natural refrigerant R744 (CO₂) with GWP=1, ODP=0—compliant with F-Gas phase-out regulations.
Reduces TEWI (Total Equivalent Warming Impact) by ≥9.6% vs. HFC-based systems.
Integrated Heat Recovery (Cost-Saving)
Recovers 70–100% of waste heat for store heating, hot water, or AC reheating.
Cuts supermarket energy bills by 25–35% vs. conventional HFC systems.
Applications
Supermarket Refrigeration: CO₂ booster systems for medium/large format stores (chilled/freezer cabinets, cold rooms).
Convenience Stores & Hypermarkets: Standalone or rooftop-mounted gas coolers for decentralized cooling.
Industrial Refrigeration: Cold storage, food processing, and logistics centers using transcritical CO₂ systems.
Heat Pumps: CO₂-based heating systems requiring high-pressure heat rejection.
