Evaporator Water Hot Coil for Rooftop Package Unit
A rooftop unit is usually a type of air conditioning system used in buildings to cool and heat the air inside the building. In a rooftop unit, the evaporator and the heat coil are two important components.
Evaporator:
The evaporator is one of the key components used for cooling in rooftop units. It is usually located inside the indoor unit and corresponds to the condenser. The function of the evaporator is to absorb heat from the indoor air and transfer it to a refrigerant (e.g., refrigerant). As the indoor air passes through the evaporator, the refrigerant is at low pressure and it absorbs the heat from the indoor air and evaporates into a gas. This causes the temperature of the indoor air to drop and it is blown out to lower the temperature of the room.
Hot Water Coil:
The hot water coil is the component of a rooftop unit that is used for heating. It is usually connected to the building's hot water system. When the building needs to be heated, hot water flows from the building's hot water system through the hot water coil. At this point, the indoor air passes through the hydrothermal coil, and the hot water releases heat to the overflowing air, which warms the indoor air.
The evaporator of the rooftop unit is used for cooling, by absorbing heat from the indoor air and cooling it. Whereas, the hydrothermal coil is used for heating, warming the indoor air by releasing heat through hot water to the air passing through. These two components work together to enable the rooftop unit to regulate the temperature inside the building during different seasons and climatic conditions.
