DRY COOLERS Used for BTC Mining
Dry coolers are air-cooled heat exchangers used in Bitcoin mining to dissipate heat generated by ASIC (Application-Specific Integrated Circuit) miners without using water. They are energy-efficient, low-maintenance, and ideal for large-scale mining farms.
How Dry Coolers Work in Bitcoin Mining
1. Heat Generation
ASIC miners convert electricity into computational power, producing high heat loads (up to 80°C+ in exhaust air).
Without cooling, chips overheat, reducing efficiency and lifespan.
2. Heat Transfer Process
Hot air from miners is ducted into the dry cooler.
A cooling fluid (usually water-glycol mix) absorbs heat via finned tubes.
Fans blow ambient air over the tubes, rejecting heat to the atmosphere.
3. Closed-Loop Cooling (Optional)
Some systems use liquid immersion cooling, where ASICs are submerged in dielectric fluid, and dry coolers dissipate heat from the fluid.
Advantages of Dry Coolers in Mining
✔ No Water Usage – Unlike evaporative cooling, dry coolers don’t waste water.
✔ Lower Maintenance – No algae buildup or scaling issues.
✔ Scalable Cooling – Can be stacked for large mining farms.
✔ Works in Dry Climates – Unlike water-based chillers, they don’t rely on humidity.
