Coil Evaporator for A Heatpump with Heating Power 25 KW
Design and Structure
Tube Material: Usually, copper or aluminum tubes are used. Copper has excellent thermal conductivity, which helps in efficient heat transfer. It can quickly absorb heat from the surrounding environment. Aluminum is lightweight and corrosion-resistant, and it is often used in some applications where cost and weight are important considerations.
Fin Material and Design: The fins are typically made of aluminum due to its good heat dissipation properties and low cost. The fin design can vary, with common types including straight fins, wavy fins, and louvered fins. Louvered fins, for example, can increase the heat transfer area and enhance the heat exchange efficiency by promoting better air circulation around the tubes.
Coil Configuration: The coil can be designed in different configurations, such as a single-row coil or a multi-row coil. A multi-row coil can provide a larger heat transfer area, which is beneficial for a 25 kW heat pump to handle the required heat exchange. The coils are often arranged in a serpentine or helical pattern to maximize the contact area with the air or the heat source medium.
Working Principle
Heat Absorption: In a heat pump system, the evaporator coil is responsible for absorbing heat from the outside environment. The refrigerant flowing through the coil is at a low temperature and pressure. When it comes into contact with the warmer air or other heat sources (such as water in a water-source heat pump), heat is transferred from the source to the refrigerant. The refrigerant then evaporates and turns into a low-pressure vapor, absorbing the latent heat of vaporization in the process.
Phase Change: As the refrigerant absorbs heat, it undergoes a phase change from a liquid to a vapor. This phase change is a key part of the heat pump's operation, as it allows the refrigerant to carry the absorbed heat to the compressor and then to the condenser, where the heat is released to provide heating.
