Biogas Heat Exchanger

Biogas heat exchangers usually work on the principle of inter-wall heat exchange. That is, the biogas is separated from another fluid (e.g. hot water, air, etc.) by a solid wall so that they transfer heat without mixing. The hot fluid (e.g., high-temperature biogas) transfers heat to the wall surface, which in turn transfers heat to the cold fluid, thus heating or cooling the biogas, and at the same time recovering the thermal energy in the biogas.

Applications in biogas engineering

Biogas fermentation heating: In the process of biogas fermentation, the growth and metabolism of microorganisms require suitable temperature conditions. Through the biogas heat exchanger, the heat from hot water or other heat sources can be transferred to the biogas fermenter to maintain the temperature required for the fermentation process, promote the activity of microorganisms, and improve the production and quality of biogas.

Biogas condensate recovery: During transportation and storage of biogas, condensate is generated due to temperature changes. The biogas heat exchanger can transfer the heat from the biogas to the cooling medium, so that the water vapor in the biogas can condense into liquid water, thus recovering the water in the biogas, and at the same time avoiding the corrosion of pipelines and equipment caused by condensate.

Waste heat recovery: biogas combustion will produce a lot of heat energy, through the biogas heat exchanger can be these waste heat recovery and utilization, used for preheating biogas, heating domestic water or other processes, to improve energy utilization and reduce energy consumption.
