100kW ~ 200kW Immersion Optimized Dry Cooler
Dry coolers are typically used in immersion cooling systems. Such systems are typically used in power transformers and other power equipment for the purpose of transferring heat from the equipment to a cooling medium to maintain the equipment at normal operating temperatures.
A dry cooler is a heat exchanger that usually consists of a set of pipes and heat sinks. In an immersion cooling system, electrical equipment (e.g., a transformer) is partially or completely submerged in insulating oil. The insulating oil is used to insulate and cool the electrical components in the equipment, such as windings.
During operation, the equipment generates heat due to the operation of the electrical components. This heat is transferred to the insulating oil, causing it to warm up. To prevent the equipment from overheating, the heat in the insulating oil needs to be transferred. This is where dry coolers come into play.
Dry coolers allow the heat in the insulating oil to be transferred to the surface of the dry cooler by means of heat sinks that are exposed to the air. Once the heat is transferred to the surface of the dry cooler, air flows through the dry cooler fins and removes the heat from the oil, thus allowing the insulating oil to cool down again.
The advantage of this system is that it does not require the use of water or other liquid cooling media, and therefore can still work effectively in dry or cold environments. In addition, immersion cooling systems are generally easier to maintain and manage than systems using water cooling.
