L2L CDU transfers heat to facility chilled water via plate heat exchanger. It supports high rack power density and low PUE for large AI clusters, but requires site chilled water infrastructure. L2A CDU rejects heat directly to room air through internal air coil and fans. It needs no facility water and is fast to deploy for legacy room retrofits, but cooling capacity is limited by existing CRAC.
