Typical application scenarios of dry coolers in ORC systems


Industrial Waste Heat Recovery

For example, kiln head / kiln tail waste heat (flue gas temperature 200-300℃) in cement plant, steel mill waste heat (150-250℃) in steel plant, dry cooler can be arranged directly outside the plant, avoiding the competition with industrial water, and the dust-resistant design is suitable for workshop environment.

Solar Thermal Power Generation

Medium-temperature thermal energy (100-250℃) generated by trough or disk solar collectors drives ORC power generation. Dry coolers are suitable for deserts and other water-scarce areas through the combination of natural convection + forced fan design (turn off the fan to save energy at night when the temperature is low).

Geothermal Energy Utilization

Low and medium temperature geothermal energy (60-150°C) ORC system in which dry coolers do not need to consume groundwater, avoiding the risk of groundwater contamination, especially suitable for ecologically sensitive areas (e.g., Scandinavia, Tibetan Plateau).

Biomass Power Generation

When waste heat from biomass combustion (180-350°C) drives ORC, dry coolers reduce dependence on agricultural water and the corrosion-resistant design copes with the trace sulfur content that biomass flue gas may contain.
