How is Energy Efficiency Optimisation of AHU Achieved?


The energy efficiency optimisation of air handling units is mainly reflected in the following aspects:


Heat recovery system: AHUs can be integrated with a heat recovery device to heat the fresh air by recovering the heat in the exhaust air, reducing heating demand and saving energy. Commonly used heat recovery methods include plate heat exchanger and rotary heat exchanger.


Fan frequency conversion control: The wind speed is controlled by the frequency converter of the fan, which can adjust the wind volume according to the demand to avoid energy waste. Frequency control of fans not only improves the energy efficiency of the system, but also extends the service life of the equipment.


Optimise filter selection: The selection and replacement frequency of filters directly affects the energy consumption of the system. Although high-efficiency filters can improve air quality, they increase wind resistance, which in turn increases fan power consumption. Therefore, choosing the right filter and changing it regularly helps to optimise energy efficiency.


Intelligent control system: By integrating an intelligent control system, AHUs can automatically adjust airflow, heating/cooling loads, etc. based on indoor and outdoor parameters such as temperature and humidity, CO2 concentration, and so on. This not only improves comfort, but also avoids unnecessary energy consumption.


Through the above measures, the energy efficiency of the AHU can be significantly improved and the operating costs can be reduced.
