How Does an Adiabatic Dry Cooler Work?
The working principle of an adiabatic dry cooler is based on several processes:
Firstly, the air entering the cooler is pre-treated by means of special adiabatic materials or devices. Common methods include water spray evaporative cooling, wet film evaporative cooling or heat exchange using other adiabatic materials.
The pre-treated air is then drawn inside the cooler by a fan and exchanges heat with the medium to be cooled, usually a liquid or gas. The cooled medium transfers heat to the air, lowering its own temperature.
During this process, as the incoming air is adiabatic, its temperature is relatively low and it is able to absorb the heat of the medium to be cooled more efficiently.
Finally, the heated air is discharged from the cooler to complete a cooling cycle.
Overall, an adiabatic dry cooler utilises adiabatic pre-treatment to lower the temperature of the incoming air, thereby enhancing the cooling effect while reducing the reliance on external cooling water sources for an efficient cooling process.
