Flue Gas Heat Exchangers for Brick Furnaces
A Danish Client required Vrcoolertech to supply flue gas heat exchanger for brick oven.
Brick ovens are traditional heating devices that are typically used to burn wood, coal or other solid fuels to provide heat. In order to improve the thermal efficiency of brick ovens and reduce energy wastage, the use of a flue gas heat exchanger in a brick oven system can be considered. Such a device recovers waste heat from the flue gases of a brick furnace and uses it to heat water, air, or other media, thereby increasing the efficiency of the entire system.
The use of flue gas heat exchangers in brick furnace systems typically involves the following steps:
1. Flue gas capture: The flue gas from the brick oven first needs to be captured or channelled into a flue gas heat exchanger. This usually requires a connecting pipe or channel.
2. Heat exchange: The flue gas heat exchanger contains a flue gas channel and a heat medium channel. The flue gas flows inside the channel and exchanges heat with the hot medium (usually water or another fluid). This results in the transfer of heat energy from the flue gas to the hot medium.
3. Heat medium utilisation: After the heat exchange, the heated heat medium can be used for different purposes, such as heating water, heating a room or driving other heat-related systems.
By using flue gas heat exchangers in brick furnace systems, fuel utilisation can be significantly improved, operating costs reduced and greenhouse gas emissions reduced, while providing a more efficient solution for applications such as domestic heating or industrial heating.
