Compressed Air Industry Waste Heat Recovery
Waste heat recovery in the compressed air industry is an important way to increase the efficiency of energy utilisation. Using waste heat from compressed air to heat water not only reduces energy waste, but also reduces operating costs. Specifically, installing a heat recovery device in front of the third-stage cooler to heat water through the temperature of the compressed air is an effective solution.
Working principle of waste heat recovery system
Generation of compressed air: The air is compressed by a compressor, a process that significantly increases the temperature of the air.
First and second stage coolers: The compressed air passes through the first and second stage coolers, where the temperature is gradually reduced, but the compressed air remains at a high temperature until it reaches the third stage cooler.
Heat recovery unit: Before the third stage cooler, a heat recovery unit is installed. This device can be a heat exchanger that uses the high temperature of the compressed air to heat the cold water and generate hot water.
Third-stage cooler: After the heat recovery device, the compressed air enters the third-stage cooler to further cool down and reach the required temperature of the system.
Utilisation of hot water: The hot water generated can be used for plant heating, domestic water heating or even for other heating needs in the process.
