Air-cooling Evaporators (Air Coolers) Used in Ammonia Systems

Working principle:

Refrigerant side: liquid ammonia enters the evaporator tube after depressurization by the expansion valve, absorbs the heat of the air outside the tube and evaporates into ammonia, and returns to the compressor cycle;

Air side: fan forced air flow through the finned tube outside, through convection heat transfer band away from the refrigerant evaporation of the heat required, the air temperature is lowered for the target area refrigeration (such as cold storage cooling).


Defrosting method:

Electric heating defrosting

Tube built-in electric heating wire (power 5-10kW / unit), heating and defrosting.

Suitable for small cold rooms (cooling capacity < 100kW).

Thermal ammonia defrosting (mainstream)

Lead high temperature and high pressure ammonia gas (70-80℃) into the evaporator and heat the fins to defrost. - Utilizing system waste heat, energy saving;

Applicable to large-scale cold storage, industrial refrigeration system.

Water frost

Spray warm water (30-40℃) to melt the frost, with the drainage tank sewage.

Fast defrosting speed (5-10 minutes / times);

Suitable for meat processing workshop (need frequent defrosting scene).
